Leave

I saw a bird, the other day
it couldn't sing, nor fly away
it's beak was broken, fell from a tree
i stood up and brought it home with me

i had a cage, all prepared
but the bird flew in the sun's glare
it's soul i could not restrain
for now it glides in love's domain

then one day, i came back home
the bird sat still, like a stone
it was sick, gazing into the void
awe of despair, a soul destroyed

such desperation i couldn't bare
it's wings were cold, a frozen stare
i had to leave, i ran away
i found it dead after a day.
